Relating Product Line Context to Requirements Engineering Processes Using Design Rationale
نویسندگان
چکیده
The design of engineering processes is dependent on the context they are designed for. This paper presents the results of an action research study that used design rationale to discover a number of contextual factors that provide criteria for designing a requirements engineering process in a given product line environment. The presented context dimensions and process design argumentation provide a starting point for understanding product line context and how supporting engineering processes are designed, communicated, and evaluated. Kewords: product lines, context, requirements engineering, process design, design rationale, action research

Application of a Cost-Driven Optimization Method in Beer Brewing Process
The final quality and cost of a manufactured product are determined to a large extent by the engineering design of the product and its production process through activities of off-line quality control methods, namely, System Design, Parameter Design and Tolerance Design. However, in the context of most non-industrialized countries, the off-line quality activities of product design and system de...

متن کاملOn the Role of Architectural Design Decisions in Software Product Line Engineering
An increased attention to documenting architectural design decisions and their rationale has resulted in several approaches and prototype tools for capturing and managing architectural knowledge. However, most of them are focused on architecting single products and little attention has been paid to include design decisions in the context of product line architectures. This paper studies two sim...

متن کاملGoal-Oriented Requirements and Feature Modeling for Software Product Line Engineering
Feature Models encapsulate functionalities and quality properties of a product family. Leveraging feature models for managing variability and commonalities of large-scale product families raises an important question: on what basis should the features of a product line be selected for a target software application, which is going to be derived from the product family. Thus, the selection of the...
